This Exotic Marlborough 2006 Riesling Won Silver at the Liquorland Top 100 International Wine Competition 2007 and another Silver at Air NZ Wine Competition 2007 also won Bronze at Royal NZ Show Aromatic Wine Competition 2007 and another Bronze at Royal Easter Wine Show 2006. This Riesling is produced from two vineyard blocks from the Omaka sub-region of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. Strict vineyard management produce low crops of intensely flavoured grapes with great emphasis on acid and fruit flavour balance. Each individual parcel of fruit is separately crush and pressed. 100% fermented in stainless steel, using two different yeast strains and a range of ferment temperatures, to retain pure fruit expression. It has a vibrant lime-gold edge colour. Citrus blossom, mandarin, fresh lime zest and exotic spices on the nose. The palate initiates in the citrus spectrum with flavours of ginger, toasted coriander and cumin appearing. A creamy texture evolves with a fine mineral edge, gently balanced with slight natural fruit sweetness. A wine with an elegant and sustained presence on the palate, revealing great concentration.
